1. Refund Policy Overview
At FluidNarrative Photography, we strive to provide the highest quality photography services and products. We understand that sometimes circumstances change, and our refund policy is designed to be fair to both our clients and our business.
This refund policy applies to all services and products offered by FluidNarrative Photography, including but not limited to photography sessions, digital images, prints, and workshops.
By booking our services or purchasing our products, you agree to the terms of this refund policy.
2. Photography Session Deposits and Payments
Session Deposits
To secure your photography session date and time, we require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is typically 25% of the total session fee and is applied toward your total balance due.
The purpose of this deposit is to reserve your session date exclusively for you and to compensate for potential lost business if you cancel.
Deposit Refund Conditions
Session deposits are non-refundable except in the following circumstances:
- If FluidNarrative Photography cancels your session for any reason, your deposit will be fully refunded.
- In cases of serious illness, injury, or bereavement (documentation may be required), we may offer to transfer your deposit to a rescheduled session within 6 months of the original date.
- In exceptional circumstances beyond your control, we may consider refunding your deposit at our discretion.
Full Payment Refunds
For full session payments made in advance:
- Cancellations with more than 30 days' notice: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit
- Cancellations with 14-30 days' notice: 50% refund minus the non-refundable deposit
- Cancellations with less than 14 days' notice: No refund
3. Conditions for Refunds
Eligible for Refund:
- Service not provided: If we are unable to provide the services as agreed upon in our contract, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on the circumstances.
- Product quality issues: If you receive prints or products with manufacturing defects or shipping damage, please notify us within 7 days of receipt for replacement or refund.
- Technical failures: In the unlikely event of a technical failure that results in a significant loss of images (beyond what is covered in our contract), we will offer a partial or full refund based on the extent of the loss.
Not Eligible for Refund:
- Change of mind: Once your session has taken place, we cannot offer refunds if you simply change your mind about wanting the photographs.
- Stylistic preferences: Refunds are not provided for subjective opinions about photographic style, composition, or editing choices that are consistent with our portfolio.
- Digital downloads: Due to their nature, digital files cannot be returned or refunded once delivered.
- Custom/personalized items: Products that have been customized specifically for you cannot be refunded unless they arrive damaged or defective.
- Weather conditions: For outdoor sessions affected by weather, we offer rescheduling rather than refunds.
4. Refund Processing Times
If your refund request is approved, we will process refunds as follows:
- Credit card payments: Refunds will be issued to the original credit card used for payment within 7-10 business days.
- Bank transfers: Refunds via bank transfer will be processed within 7-10 business days.
- Other payment methods: Refunds for other payment methods will be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that while we process refunds promptly, it may take additional time for the funds to appear in your account depending on your financial institution's policies.
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:

- Include your name, the service or product purchased, and date of purchase
- Clearly explain the reason for your refund request
- Attach any relevant documentation (receipts, product photos if damaged, etc.)
- Provide your preferred contact information
We will review your request and respond within 3-5 business days. If additional information is needed, we may contact you to discuss your request further.
6. Exceptions to the Refund Policy
Workshops and Events
For photography workshops, classes, and events:
- Cancellations with more than 30 days' notice: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee
- Cancellations with 14-30 days' notice: 50% refund
- Cancellations with less than 14 days' notice: No refund
- You may transfer your registration to another person at no additional cost
Special Circumstances
We recognize that exceptional circumstances beyond your control may arise. In cases of serious illness, injury, or bereavement, we may consider exceptions to our standard refund policy on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation may be required.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates and vouchers:
- Are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person
- Expire after 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated
- Cannot be exchanged for cash
